Wildlife photography can take you to places of such beauty and peace.

It can feel selfish to spend hours, sometimes days, away from my family when focused with my camera and a chosen subject.

This is so important though, to be immersed in the subject’s world and the thrill, even if it seems sedate, comes from the challenge of planning and then implementing the ideas that I may have for an image, and I need to be away from everyone and everything.

Wildlife photography can take you to places of such beauty and peace and from there hopefully an image that portrays the very feeling I have at the moment I press the shutter.

Since the early days with my Kodak Disc Camera and to hiding film in my dirty socks whilst travelling I have always wanted to take pictures. Wildlife photography keeps me healthy, both physically, when carrying kit long distances, and mentally, for every experience I have. Kit changes, technology changes, the wilderness changes and I am changing, but my photography allows me to remain grounded and happy – enjoy.
